  • Haleh's short story NOT CONTAGIOUS, Highly Commended by the Costa Short Story prize in early January is available to read now at the London Magazine. It is the story of a woman suffering with endometriosis who uses professional cuddling services. NOT CONTAGIOUS explores our longing for touch and fear of the 'Other'.

This talk explores female embodiment, specifically representations of the body as a site of vulnerability and empowerment in Haleh's writing. The author draws upon intersectional feminism and her own personal experiences as a woman of colour-- whose body has been labelled as clinically vulnerable, to inform her writing on the body.
